Product Recycling
As part of CCBSales continued commitment to the environment, and in line with the WEEE directive, it has introduced a new policy and guidelines relating to the recycling of its equipment.
What should I do with redundant electrical equipment provided by CCBSales?
Old electrical and electronic equipment should not be disposed with general waste. Instead it should be collected separately and sent for specialist treatment and recycling.
CCBSales is committed to providing a complete service for its customers. It recognises that this dedication extends to the supply and return of its equipment. CCBSales now offers free take-back of the electrical equipment it provides to its customers. Customers are required to:
- Identify the equipment that they want to return to CCBSales
- De-install and pack the equipment in appropriate packaging
- Contact CCBSales to arrange pickup of your equipment – Phone Us On 01507 604102.
Note: CCBSales will treat and recycle electrical and electronic equipment which it has provided to the customer as well as any other electrical and electronic equipment as long as the customer is making a puchase from us.
Why should I recycle my old electrical and electronic equipment?
Waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) contains hazardous substances which can have a negative impact on the environment and human health if they are disposed of incorrectly. Recycling WEEE also helps to recover valuable resources which therefore reduce the need for raw materials. Our products are being marked with a crossed-out wheelie symbol as we want to encourage the separate collection of our waste electrical and electronic products.
By collecting WEEE separately, we can ensure it is sent for specialist treatment and recycling. CCBSales fully supports recycling of WEEE and offers free take-back of the electrical and electronic equipment we provide to our customers. Products which are returned to us will be treated and recycled to the necessary environmental standards.
What is the WEEE Directive?
The Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment Directive (WEEE Directive) is EU legislation which aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic goods on the environment, by increasing re-use and recycling and reducing the amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) going to landfill. It seeks to achieve this by making producers of WEEE responsible for financing its collection, treatment, and recovery, and by obliging distributors of WEEE to allow consumers to return WEEE free of charge.
What does the crossed out wheelie bin symbol on electrical and electronic products mean?
The crossed out wheelie bin symbol is used to mark products that should not be disposed with general household waste, but collected separately for reuse or recycling.
What happens to waste electrical and electronic equipment sent back to CCBSales?
All waste electrical and electronic equipment which is returned to us is treated and recycled to the necessary environmental standards
